The short version

Star Interview helps you prepare stories: it drafts STAR answers from your resume and a target company, then lets you rehearse them in audio interviews. Relaunch does not draft your answers. It asks the questions your resume and the job will raise, you answer in your own words, and the interviewer follows up on what you said.

Star Interview details are from its own pages (starinterview.io, pricing, Story Bank, terms of service), read on October 23, 2026. This is starinterview.io, not the similarly named starinterview.ai. Relaunch prices are in Canadian dollars in Canada and US dollars in the US.

A drafted answer, or your own

A drafted answer is a fast start, and Star Interview is clear that you should check it against your own experience before you use it. The catch is that the interview will test the details, and a story you did not build is harder to defend under a follow-up.

Relaunch keeps the words yours from the first attempt. Feedback names what is missing, such as the result or your part in it, and you add it in your own words.

The interviewer is testing your story, not a story. It has to hold up when they ask what happened next.

Knowing the company

Star Interview offers episodes about how a set of large companies interview. Relaunch writes a short brief for any company you name, from its own public record, with a link on every line so you can check it before you mention it. Your practice interviewer reads the brief too.

Which one to use

If you are interviewing at one of the large tech companies it covers and want drafted stories to rehearse, Star Interview is built for that. If you want practice for any job, in your own words, with a follow-up on every answer and help with the resume before it, that is what Relaunch is for.
